How to add FREE ringtones to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad

This is a tutorial for how to add your ringtones free to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iTunes and Windows 7.

Step 1
First of all, download YouTube downloader.

Step 2
Download the song you want and convert it to mp3.

Step 3
Add the song to your music folder, and then to iTunes library.

Step 4
Right click the song into iTunes, and hit Get info. Now, select options and set the start and stop time.
Note: The song should keep directly 30 seconds!

Step 5
Now, right click the song into iTunes, and select "Create AAC version".
Right click the AAC converted song (with 30 seconds time) and select Show in windows explorer.

Step 6
Cut the song from windows explorer, and paste to your iTunes Tones folder (default is C:\Users\<user name>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Tones)

Step 7
After pasting the song to Tones folder, go to Organize and then to Folder and search options.
Now, go to View, and uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file typs" option and press OK.


Step 8
Rename the extension of your song.
The curent extension of your song is m4a. You will rename that to .m4r.

Step 9
Go to iTunes, go to Edit > Preferences and check the Tones option.

Step 10
Copy your song from Tones folder to iTunes Tones library.

Step 11
Connect your device to iTunes and make sure that the option "Sync Tones" in Tones selection in checked.
Now, sync your device and the ringtone is applied to "Sounds" category in Settings app.
